My Biggest Influence: Vampire Hunter D

Hi, there. Michael Hardy here. So I guess you would like to know what was my biggest influence into creating Kris Hellion. Well, the biggest reason would have to be this. A little 80's anime called "Vampire Hunter D". It takes place in the year 12,090 AD where a vampire hunter named "D" (Obviously) is hired by a girl named Doris Lang to protect and kill a powerful vampire named Count Magnus Lee. It's a classic vampire story and a must see especially if you're an anime and vampire fan.

The first time I saw this anime was a clip where the Count killed his servant. My heart was in shock and in fear for seeing blood and gore in an animated movie. It was like nothing that I have ever seen before. A family friend of mine introduced me to VHD and his tape was stolen which I ironically bought from that thief who was one of my classmate (Laugh!). Anyway as the years went by and I was in college university at the time, I took it upon myself to buy the 1st Vampire Hunter D novel and I loved it. I loved the writing style of Hideyuki Kikuchi (The creator of Vampire Hunter D and Wicked City). I even copied his writing style.

Vampire Hunter D is the biggest reason Kris Hellion existed. I may have said other things on what inspired me but I believe that inspiration comes from the many things that are picked up along the road of life but I can assure you that VHD was the one that got me into writing.
