Tomes of Light and Darkness are a series of short stories based on my character, "Kris Hellion", for my novel of the same name (Available at thebookpatch.com). It tells the tales of the life of a Pontianak, a forest vampire girl who has lived over 190 years to take vengeance upon the Beast that killed her mother.
In this short story, Kris is forced to let a cheetah witch named Madam Tiada Harimau to live with her after the Tinggies War, in which the Tinggies, a race of tree folks who now consider Kris their master and have no choice to go where she goes.
